College of Human Sciences Faculty-Led Programs
These are short-term, faculty-led study abroad programs. Through these programs, you’ll travel with other Iowa State University students, be taught and led by Iowa State faculty, and earn class credit.

College of Human Sciences Semester/Summer Study Abroad Programs
These are more extended study abroad experiences — either during a semester or summer — that are coordinated by the College of Human Sciences International Programs Office. These programs vary in length and academic areas.

England
- London College of Fashion
- Semester or summer
- Program focus is for apparel, merchandising, and design majors. Students can go for a semester or participate in one of four summer programs. In the five-week option, students can study fashion styling, and in the eight-week option students can study fashion business, fashion design, or footwear design.

France
- Paris American Academy
- Semester or summer
- Program focus is for apparel, merchandising and design majors. Students can go for a semester, or spend four weeks in the summer.

International Student Teaching

- Eight-week student teaching placement abroad with options for elementary education, secondary education, early childhood education, family and consumer sciences education, and physical education.

Scotland

- Semester or summer
- Open to all Iowa State students with courses for CHS students in fashion marketing and retail, event management, dietetics and nutrition, and community health. There is a semester exchange and a two- or three-week summer program.

Taiwan

- Program focus is for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in apparel, merchandising and design.
Iowa State University Semester/Summer Study Abroad Programs
These are longer study abroad experiences, either during a semester or summer with curriculum relevant to College of Human Sciences majors.

- Deakin University – Open to all students with some courses specific to kinesiology majors and students in food science and human nutrition.

- Institut Polytechnique LaSalle: Exchange through CALS but open to all students in food science and human nutrition. Semester and summer options (with optional internship) are available.

- American Farm School – Perrotis College: Sponsored by CALS, this program offers summer options for students in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
